Chirashi is a Japanese word for small poster or promotional leaftlet.Chirashi are placed in cinemas or handed out in Japan to promote current and future movies. They take the form of a miniature movie poster with promotional photos and copy on the reverse. Most text is usually in Japanese. Chirashi are B5 which is slightly smaller than UK A4. The artwork on the front is usually full colour with the reverse side usually being monochrome. Sometimes full colour, and two or four page chirashi are produced. Chirashi are very collectable as they are available only for a limited time, and feature artwork used only for the Japanese market. In some cases fetch high prices amongst collectors. Due to their compact size, chirashi are easier to collect than regular posters and can either be displayed in a folder or framed.
